Hip Carrier vs. a front or back carrier?

Eye contact is fundamental in bonding between caregiver and child. Think of your Portamee as an aid in your baby’s emotional and linguistic development.

It’s natural to use your hip. Women in particular have more natural strength in their hips and legs, not the back. Women have been carrying babies on their hips for thousands of years. Front style soft carriers put extra strain on your center and lower back.

Comfort: Carry in Comfort. Babies today are healthier and heavier. Our carrier has REAL ERGONOMIC LUMBAR SUPPORT with flexible padded bars. This enables you to MAINTAIN PROPER BODY ALIGNMENT, PROTECT YOUR BACK and reduce fatigue.

When is my baby ready for a Portamee?

Along with the Portamee Headrest due out August 2007, the Portamee can be used with infants -- We developed our Infant Headrest to accommodate babies as young as 8 weeks and 10 pounds.

Without the Portamee Headrest, the Portamee is designed for babies that can hold their head up unassisted (about 4-5 months)

We recommend the Portamee be used for children up to 35 lbs.

What’s the adult size range?

The Portamee fits most men and women. Waist lines as small as 25” up to 60”. Adults as petite as 5’and as tall as 6’5.

I’m really petite (under 5 ft and under 100 lbs) Will the Portamee fit me?

Probably not. We’re working on an XS size. Due out in 2008.

What about care and maintenance. How do I clean my Portamee?
  • Store in a cool dry area
  • Excessive exposure to sun may cause premature color fading of fabric
  • Spot clean/hand wash
  • Do not machine wash, use bleach or iron

How quickly can I expect my carrier to ship?

We ship via UPS ground. UPS will automatically notify you via email when your Portamee has shipped. Shipping can take anywhere from 1-5 days.
